The focus of this group is similar to Guppy but the children in Star Fish (Red) group are usually older and have better coordination. Star Fish group instructors concentrate on safety and getting their students comfortable in the water. Some of the skills learned in this group are front float without support, back float with support, front glide, back glide, rolling in the water, recovering from the floats, treading, swimming on front and back for short distances. These skills are lifesaving techniques as well as beginning stroke methods. Most of the skills are done with assistance. Students also learn to bob in the water, submerging their whole head so they understand and adapt to learning breath control. This class is essential to learning the basics so your child can be more successful and comfortable in the levels following Star Fish (red).

Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
Times: 30 minutes per class
